Ryne James
Pensacola, Florida is known more for UFO sightings than country music.
Singer-songwriter Ryne James aims to change that. He’s channeling the far-out southern spirit of his hometown with an alt-country album, Blurry Dissolver, out June 21 2024 on Sandspur Records.
“The Florida panhandle is the craziest place I've ever been to in my life,” said James. “I had to travel the globe to realize how weird it is.”
Produced by Oakley Munson of The Black Lips, Blurry Dissolver tells stories of modern panhandle life in a classic roadhouse country style – the kind cultivated by Jerry Jeff Walker and kept alive by Sturgill Simpson and David Nance. Over the course of 11 songs, Blurry Dissolver conjures up people proudly surviving every day on their own terms, catching joy where they can. Gettin by on gettin by, as Jerry Jeff would say.
